Following a yearlong hiatus, the NewsWire department of Alpinist.com is back. Effective October, news and stories relevant to the climbing community will be posted in the department regularly.
NewsWire first launched in September 2006. During the two years that followed, the department grew to become one of the most respected and visited climbing news sources. When Alpinist closed its doors in October 2008, NewsWire went dormant. Now that Alpinist Magazine, the international quarterly climbing journal, has made a successful comeback, new owners Height of Land Publications have rededicated resources and enthusiasm to the website. Expect to find a cleaner homepage with more news, features and issue content in the coming months.
“Look to NewsWire for the latest and most complete climbing news from around the world,” says Alpinist Editor-in-Chief Michael Kennedy. “In addition, Alpinist.com will complement Alpinist Magazine even more in the future.”
Former Online Editor Erik Lambert will continue to manage NewsWire and other Alpinist.com operations.
To report climbing and community news, please email Erik Lambert directly or send a message to the Alpinist editorial team.
