Nemjung Climbed from the West

A Japanese team has summited Nemjung (7140m), in Nepalese Himalaya, via its previously unclimbed west face and west ridge. Leader Osamu Tanabe, along with Yasuhiro Hanatani, Michihiro Kadoya and Nobusuke Oki, climbed more than 1000 meters up the icy face in alpine style from October 29-30, 2009. They rappelled from their high camp the next day to reach base camp.
