In September, Dieter Stohr and Reinhold Scherer established three new alpine routes in the Karwendel region of the Northern Limestone Alps, near the city of Innsbruck, Austria. Inglourious Basterds (XIII [5.11d], 7 pitches, 240m) ascends the west face of Speckkarspitze (2621m), while Hundert Wasser (XIII, 6 pitches, 200m) and Woodstock (X- [5.13b/c], 7 pitches, 220m) climb the formation’s steep northwest face.

Scherer described Hundert Wasser as “one of the most beautiful, photogenic and original routes of its grade in the entire Karwendel.”
